Muna Phillips

Practice Manager

After completing Year 12 at Hurlstone Agricultural High School I commenced studying at TAFE for my Accounting Certificate. An opportunity arose as Assistant Accountant within an advertising agency, where I managed 12 staff in their accounts department.

I then started a family and raised four beautiful children. My husband and I always emphasized the importance of Health, especially sport. So, I became that “Soccer and Netball” mom. This grew into playing and coaching Soccer with our local club. We all Holiday regularly as a family near the beach where we enjoy swimming and water sports. My other interests also lie in photography, bushwalking and going to the gym.

I found I was always drawn to helping others, especially children. For this reason, I was delighted when a part time position with a Paediatrician was offered to me.

This involved Accounting and Administration duties. I loved this role so much, that after 22 years, I decided to widen my career to the GP industry.

Before commencing this role at Ashton Medical Practice, I started as a receptionist again and worked my way up to Administration Manger involving up to 15 doctor and 10 receptionists. Currently, I am settled into a wonderful environment of 4 doctors and 4 receptionists as Practice Manager for Ashton Medical Practice.

With my Management experience in the Medical industry I have gained various strengths, my main being effective communication and organisational skills.

These strengths I consider to be the main facilitators in running a smooth Practice as well as helping to provide optimal care for patients. This in turn creates an excellent work environment for the Doctors and the employees.

My aim is to continue nurturing the warm friendly family environment and promote the diverse amount of Services we provide here at Ashton Medical Practice.
